Throughout September, October and November Rotary needs your help to plant 8,750 trees on farms in NSW.
Each farm has been chosen to improve their biodiversity and to provide an active animal corridor for Australian Native Fauna such as Koalas.
Trees selected are Australian Natives such as Eucalyptus and Acacias.
We have now reached 70% of our first 10,000 trees to be adopted!
The barometer shows the number of trees adopted since the launch of the project!
Thank you for the support so far ... we still have a while to go though!
Please help us reach our goal by sharing this with your friends!
Adopted trees will be planted in environmentally impacted areas of NSW & ACT.
The planting areas will be determined by experts, including Landcare and Rotary will organise plantings under their guidance.
Plantings will take place in months such as April/May & September/October.
Local schools & clubs will be contacted, encouraging them to become involved.
A variety of trees and shrubs will be planted to ensure a balance in the local environment, encouraging native birds and fauna also grow and thrive.
Rotary Smith Family Scholarships will help young Australians grow to their best potential. Donations that you make will enable local Rotary Clubs to support local youth, ensuring they receive the educational support required for them to complete their studies. The funds allocated to the Smith Family are determined from the excess funds after the costs of propagating tubestock are taken into account.
$10,000 has been donated from the first year of funds (taking into account the seeding grant from the Australia Day Council).
Some students may also be selected by local Rotary Clubs to be sponsored to participate in Rotary Youth Leadership programs.
